The terminology 'listing hearing' dates from when an issuer or its sponsor was required to make a representation to a panel at the London Stock Exchange as to why the securities should be admitted to the Official List. The issuer or its sponsor is no longer required to be present at the listing hearing, but the terminology remains.

What is a listing hearing?

This is a procedure we carry out to review the documentation supporting an application for listing. For a hearing to take place, we must have received all the documents relevant to the application 48 hours before the hearing along with any other documents that are specified as being required on the day of the hearing.

Booking a listing hearing online

You should request the listing hearing before submitting the relevant documents for the application.

Hearings can also be booked by submitting a fax to Listing Applications stating the issuer name, type of application and requested hearing date. To confirm a hearing date that has been requested via fax or post, please contact us.

To change the hearing date for an application, please contact us by email or fax - specifying the issuer name, type of issue, the details of the original hearing and the requested rearranged date. If all the details of the issue remain compliant with the Listing Rules, you do not need to submit them again, as we will keep the documents that were originally submitted on file.
