The management structure of the FSA is designed to support our business aims.

To achieve these objectives the management structure aims to:

  • help retail consumers get a fair deal;
  • promote efficient, orderly and fair financial markets;
  • make us easier to do business with.

Management Structure

  1. the Board, chaired by Adair, Lord Turner
  2. the Chief Executive, Hector Sants
  3. three Managing Directors, each leading a business unit:

    • retail markets,
    • wholesale and institutional markets, and
    • operations
  4. a number of functions which report direct to the Chief Executive
  5. nine 'sector leaders' - senior staff with cross-FSA responsibilities for defined sectors or issues.

Sector teams

  • ensure that issues relevant to their sector that pose risks to our objectives are identified and resolved as quickly as possible;
  • ensure that we are developing the depth and breadth of sector-specific expertise among our people; and
  • represent us in our dealings with the wide range of external parties concerning their sector.
