Management structure
The management structure of the FSA is designed to support our business aims.
To achieve these objectives the management structure aims to:
- help retail consumers get a fair deal;
- promote efficient, orderly and fair financial markets;
- make us easier to do business with.
Management Structure
- the Board, chaired by Adair, Lord Turner
- the Chief Executive, Hector Sants
- three Managing Directors, each leading a business unit:
- retail markets,
- wholesale and institutional markets, and
- operations
- a number of functions which report direct to the Chief Executive
- nine 'sector leaders' - senior staff with cross-FSA responsibilities for defined sectors or issues.

Sector teams
- ensure that issues relevant to their sector that pose risks to our objectives are identified and resolved as quickly as possible;
- ensure that we are developing the depth and breadth of sector-specific expertise among our people; and
- represent us in our dealings with the wide range of external parties concerning their sector.
