This section sets out the timetable for implementation of MiFID.

| The Commission formally adopted the Level 2 measures and published them in the Official Journal of the European Union. | 2 September 2006 |
| All national authorities need to have made the necessary changes to law and rules – the transposition date. | 31 January 2007 |
| When Level 1 requirements and Level 2 measures come into force and ISD is repealed. | 1 November 2007 |
