Basel Advisory Group
Please note that this group has now been replaced by the Basel 2/CRD Implementation Advisory Group.
Basel Advisory Group Terms of Reference
The terms of reference of the advisory group on the review of the Capital Adequacy Framework are as follows:
- To review and advise on the consultation processes established by the FSA. This will include the timetable, communication channels, and roles of institutions and trade associations.
- To ensure that all relevant institutions, practitioner groups and trade associations are encouraged to play a full part in responding to the paper.
- To develop a complete picture of the interests and priorities of UK financial institutions as a basis for the UK's contribution to the development of final proposals. This would also provide background material for parallel work in the European Commission.
- To assess the costs and benefits for UK financial institutions of both particular proposals and the overall package.
The group will not have any formal sub-groups. However, it will receive updates on the progress of any smaller groups working on particular topics, to ensure that it has a complete picture of the consultation process.
