City Team

Joseph Eyre

Manager - City team

Joseph EyreJoseph joined the press office in May 2004 and was appointed manager of the city team in April 2006. Prior to the press office he has worked in research on international regulatory issues and on the regulation of the Lloyd's insurance market for the FSA.  Before the FSA he worked for the Corporation of Lloyd's in the International department overseeing Lloyd's foreign licences and for the policy department of the regulatory division.

Heidi Ashley

Press Officer - Insurance, banking & HR

Heidi AshleyHeidi joined the FSA in January 2002 to supervise small firms. She began working in a communications capacity with small firms in March 2003 and then worked on internal and external communications for Wholesale Markets Unit between 2004 and 2006. She joined the City Team of the Press Office in November 2006 to work on insurance issues. Prior to joining the FSA, Heidi worked for the Financial Ombudsman Service and on the Southall Rail Accident inquiry for the HSE.

Abi Jones

Press Officer - Financial crime and financial stability

Abi Jones

Abi joined as press officer in the retail team in April 2005, covering consumer communications and financial capability. She previously worked as a PR consultant tailoring consumer strategies for emerging markets where her role included developing media campaigns for clients within the Finance, FMCG and public affairs sectors. Prior to that, Abi worked for Bailey & Yates as a PR executive specialising in crisis management.

Teresa La Thangue

Press Officer - Wholesale markets, insider trading and alternative investments

Teresa La Thangue

Teresa joined the FSA in November 2007. Prior to her move to the FSA she spent three years with British American Tobacco as Media Relations Manager with responsibility for, amongst others things; financial results reporting, litigation issues, public smoking and harm reduction. Teresa began her media relations career at Barclays, working with the Group media relations team on a range of reputation matters and financial results. She also worked briefly with Mayne Pharma, an Australian oncology company and freelanced with PR agency, Fishburn Hedges.

Cerris Tavinor

Manager - Retail team

Cerris TavinorCerris joined the press office in January 2007 to look after financial crime and financial stability. Previously, Cerris held a number of senior roles in press office teams, including the University of Cambridge and Royal Dutch Shell. Prior to this, she worked in internal communications for Philips Electronics in the Netherlands, after starting her career as a news reporter on an evening regional newspaper.

Robin Gordon-Walker

Press Officer - Mortgages and general insurance, Sandler products, international consumer issues, collective investment schemes

Robin Gordon-Walker Robin Gordon-Walker joined the FSA in January 1999 from the Registry of Friendly Societies for which he had served as press and publications officer since 1996. Before this, from 1974, Robin had worked for the Government Information Service, including nine years as senior publicity officer with the Department of Employment. Between 1968 and 1974 Robin was a journalist with the Western Mail, the Press Association and the Daily Express. He has a BA in History from the University of East Anglia.

Press Officer – Financial capability and treating customers fairly

Andrea Kinnear

Andrea joined the Retail team in September 2006 and her responsibilities include Financial Capability and Treating Customers Fairly. Prior to this she was Forward Planning Manager for the Liberal Democrats.

 

Adam Richards-Gray

Press Officer – Pensions, financial promotions and regulatory services

Adam joined the FSA's Press Office in April 2007, having previously worked in the FSA's Public Affairs team, as Parliamentary Affairs Officer, from October 2004. Before this, Adam was Research Secretary to the Rt Hon Frank Field MP, where his responsibilities included managing the MP's media relations.
