Procurement Team

The FSA buys a wide range of goods and services. This Procurement section tells you about becoming a supplier to the FSA and will help you understand our policies and procedures.

The Procurement Department

The FSA is required to be economic and effective in using its resources. The Procurement Department is a team of professional purchasing staff, which ensures that value for money is obtained for all expenditure.

Public Procurement Regulations

The FSA is a Contracting Authority under the Public Procurement Regulations 2006. Accordingly, all contracts for relevant services in excess of the values below are subject to the EU Procurement Directives:
- From the 1st January 2012: £173,934 (for supplies and services) and £4,348,350 (for works).

Where required by the above directives, upcoming FSA contracts are advertised in the Tenders Electronic Daily (TED), which is a supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). In some cases the FSA also issues Prior Information Notices (PINs), which describe contracts that will be formally advertised in the near future.

In addition to the various Procurement procedures under the EU Directives, the FSA may also use alternative routes to market, including Framework Agreements (both Pan-government and FSA tendered agreements).

FSA tenders which fall outside of the EU Procurement Directives are usually advertised within Government Opportunities (magazine) and Contrax weekly (online version of Government Opportunities), in addition to the FSA’s own eTendering portal.

All tendering is carried out via the FSA eTendering portal hosted by Bravo Solutions.

A list of all contracts awarded by the FSA in the past 12 months is available. This list covers all contracts that fall within the requirements above, plus any in progress at the end of the period.

Procurement and Corporate Responsibility

As a major consumer of goods and services, we recognise our responsibility to the environment and to ensuring that our suppliers have fair and ethical labour policies. As part of that responsibility we expect all suppliers to comply with our Supplier Environmental and Social Policy Statement.

We also have a commitment to Ethical Procurement

Terms and Conditions

In the absence of any other agreed terms and conditions, the FSA General Terms and Conditions shall apply.
