Most firms and individuals can only conduct regulated activities in the UK if they are ‘authorised’ by us to do so, or are otherwise exempt.
However, there are certain firms that need instead to be ‘registered’ with us. Find out more about being authorised.
To apply to become directly authorised or registered by the FSA a firm needs to submit an application to us. We will assess the application and advise the firm of the decision.
