Overview and Aims
This briefing is aimed at people responsible for implementing Solvency II in firms, and in particular anyone working at or with firms intending to apply to use an internal model that are currently in the pre-application phase of our Internal Model Approval Process.
We and the industry continue to prepare for the implementation of the Solvency II Directive in an ambiguous environment. Given the complexity and lead times involved in the process to apply for an internal model, we thought it would be useful for those working in this area to hear directly from us.
In November 2010, we held a briefing for people working at or with firms intending to apply to use an internal model and are in the pre-application phase of our Internal Model Application Process (see our IMAP pages).Julian Adams also gave a keynote speech at the ABI's Solvency II Conference in December that clarified the points raised in November.
This briefing is designed to provide as much supporting material as possible to firms that intend to apply to use an internal model and are currently in the pre-application phase of our Internal Model Application Process. .
