Probationary Period

Your Personal Statement will set out specific terms of your probationary period. Confirmation of your appointment will be subject to satisfactory performance as well as a satisfactory health and attendance record during the period of probation. On the satisfactory completion of your probationary period, your employment will be confirmed and the probationary period will count as part of your continuous service with the FSA. Your Personal Statement will set out the conditions which apply.The probationary periods for those on permanent contracts are normally as follows unless otherwise stated in your Personal Statement.

Whether you are on a permanent or short-term contract, if we are dissatisfied with your performance and/or conduct, your employment may be terminated before the end of the probationary period, or the probationary period may be extended to allow a better assessment of your performance.
