HRH The Duke of Kent will be visiting the Financial Services Authority today. The Duke is the Vice Chairman of British Trade International and Vice Chairman of British Invisibles - organisations which promote British trade abroad (including financial services). In this connection, The Duke has asked for a briefing about the FSA, especially in an international context.

The Duke will arrive at 10.30 am for a series of meetings in the Board Room, hosted by the Deputy Chairman, Stewart Boyd. The FSA''s General Counsel, Michael Blair will cover the FSA as the single regulator. Managing Director Michael Foot and Director of Consumer Relations Christine Farnish will speak of the benefits of the new approach for firms and consumers. Director of Central Policy Clive Briault, will address international aspects of the FSA''s work.

At 12 o''clock, The Duke will meet staff in the Markets and Exchanges Division and the Emerging Markets Department before departure at 12.30pm.
