Web-based training: Retail mediation activities return (RMAR)
To give firms the understanding needed to complete and submit the RMAR using the Firms Online system.
Objectives
By the end of the training, delegates should understand:
- why the FSA collects data;
- how and when to access the RMAR through the Firms Online system;
- the data requirements;
- how to input data to the RMAR; and
- how to submit and validate your return.
Please note that this course does not provide detailed guidance on all the underlying policy requirements.
Who is it for?
Relevant to all mortgage and general insurance intermediaries and personal investment firms who are due to submit the RMAR. Aimed at smaller firms, but is relevant to anyone who has responsibility for collecting and submitting data to the FSA and anyone within a firm who needs to understand what information we will be collecting and why.
Although the course includes some material on the complaints return, it is not suitable for firms that will only be using Firms Online for this purpose, i.e. will not be submitting the RMAR.
How is the information presented?
The course is taken via the web. Its features include:
- interactive demonstrations of the Firms Online system functionality including screenshots of the generic RMAR and Complaints Returns, helping the user to become familiar with the look and feel of the system;
- questions to assist users in their understanding of the topics covered;
- a ‘reporting period calculator’ that allows firms to determine their individual reporting periods; and
- links to relevant parts of the FSA website and the Handbook.
Duration
Approximately 1 hour. There is a facility to stop/start the course and return to it at a later date.
Other information
The course costs £5 per person to purchase. Terms and conditions apply. Purchase is made online.
Whilst we will update packages to reflect policy changes, once they become out of date we will remove them from our system.
