Doing business with the FSA
This short course will help you identify the impact that MiFID implementation may have on how you do business with the FSA; this includes the permissions required by the introduction of new activities and instruments, and issues arising from the wider scope of the MiFID passport.
Objectives
When you have finished this course, you will be able to:
- identify the new types of business that firms will be able to carry out across Europe because of MiFID’s wider scope;
- consider the way firms can do investment business in other EEA states;
- describe the specific notifications in the case of outsourcing; and
understand the approved persons requirements.

This course has been designed for firms falling within the scope of MiFID. It will therefore be relevant to most investment firms and asset managers. It will also have some relevance to smaller firms and firms undertaking some non-MiFID business.
