This short course will help you identify the impact that MiFID implementation may have on how you do business with the FSA; this includes the permissions required by the introduction of new activities and instruments, and issues arising from the wider scope of the MiFID passport.

Objectives

When you have finished this course, you will be able to:

  • identify the new types of business that firms will be able to carry out across Europe because of MiFID’s wider scope;
  • consider the way firms can do investment business in other EEA states;
  • describe the specific notifications in the case of outsourcing; and
    understand the approved persons requirements.

Who is it for?

This course has been designed for firms falling within the scope of MiFID. It will therefore be relevant to most investment firms and asset managers. It will also have some relevance to smaller firms and firms undertaking some non-MiFID business.

How is the information presented?

You take the course online. Its features include:

  • questions to help you understand the topics covered;
  • interactive features and links so you can get extra information;
  • links to relevant parts of the legislation and our website; and
  • audio commentary.

Duration

The course takes approximately 25 minutes. You can stop and start the course and return to it later.
