Client assets
This short course has been designed to give you an overview of changes being made, due to MiFID in the Client Assets sourcebook (CASS).
It looks at the new chapters of CASS and the changes they bring to firms in MiFID scope.
Objectives
When you have finished this course, you will be able to:
- explain the revised structure of CASS, including the three new chapters in the sourcebook;
- explain the loss of the professional opt-out;
- describe the greater flexibility that MiFID provides;
- identify the new provisions regarding the Commodity and Futures Trading Commission Part 30 Exemption Order.
Who is it for?
This course has been designed for firms falling within the scope of MiFID. It will therefore be relevant to most medium-to-large investment firms and asset managers. However, it will not be relevant for firms falling outside the scope of the directive, including smaller firms who are exempt.

The course takes approximately 25 minutes. You can stop and start the course and return to it later.
