Reporting a misleading promotion
Whether you are an FSA-regulated firm or a member of the general public (ie a consumer), you can help us by bringing misleading adverts to our attention. If you see an advert that you feel is unfair, unclear or misleading, please tell us and we can investigate. However, please note that for legal reasons we cannot comment on individual complaints.
What do we deal with?
We deal with complaints about savings and bank accounts, investments, insurance products, mortgages, pensions, or financial advice about any of these products.
How to report your complaint
Call our dedicated Hotline on 0300 500 5000; or
Complete our reporting form, You can then submit the form electronically or you may print and post it to us at:
The Financial Services Authority
25 The North Colonnade,
London, E14 5HS
We need as much detail as possible to make sure we can find the advert you are concerned about. It would be extremely helpful if you could send us a copy of the advert either at the postal address above, or by email to finprom1@fsa.gov.uk.
| What don't we deal with? | |
|---|---|
| We don't look at promotions about the following… | Here's where you can go for help: |
| Credit cards Store cards and charge cards Personal loans and loan consolidation Overdrafts Some second charge mortgages |
Trading Standards Office (for credit card and loan adverts) |
| Financial scams | Moneymadeclear |
| Issues of taste and decency | Advertising Standards Authority |
It is best if you send your complaint to the right organisation so they can act upon it as quickly as possible. But if you do send us an advert that does not relate to the areas we regulate, we will forward it on to the appropriate organisation so they can look into it.
