The Money Laundering Regulations 2007
This page provides information on the changes brought about by the Money Laundering Regulations 2007 which come into effect on 15 December 2007. These Regulations will implement the requirements of the EU's Third Money Laundering Directive in the UK.
The Regulations impose requirements on many types of business. The FSA will be supervising the money laundering controls in Authorised Firms (which the FSA already regulates under the Financial Services and Markets Act) as well as certain other types of business (like safety deposit box providers, leasing companies, share registrars and commercial lenders) which will become registered with the FSA for the first time.
