This document lays out the FSA’s CR objectives. We’ve set objectives under each of the four main CR headings:

  • Work: this section is about how we achieve our three strategic aims of: helping retail consumers achieve a fair deal; promoting efficient, orderly and fair markets; and improving our business capability and effectiveness. We have no KPIs for this, as our effectiveness in achieving our aim is measured through the Outcome Performance Report and we give an account of this in our Annual Report.
  • People: this section looks at how we treat our employees.
  • Environment: this section covers our direct impact on the environment and also our indirect impact through our supply chain.
  • Community: this section not only covers our work in the local community to our head office in Canary Wharf, but also the wider impact of the work we do.

We’ve also set an overall CR objective: to hold the CR Action Group itself accountable.

Each of the five sections – the four CR headings plus an overall CR section – is set out as follows:

  1. Identification of the CR risks and opportunities: this comes from the CR baseline review that was carried out early in 2007. We felt it was important to refer back to our key risk(s) and opportunity(s) as these are important considerations when deciding on our objectives.
  2. Objectives: this section is divided in two:

    • an overall objective (ie what we are trying to achieve as a long-term goal),
    • a set of objectives to be achieved by the end of the year.
  3. How are we going to achieve that overall objective? This section outlines the steps we will take to meet our overall objective.  If we are successful in all these steps, we will judge the objective as being fully realised.
  4. How can we measure performance? This section shows how we will measure performance (where possible) against each of the tasks listed against the objective. We list KPIs as well as well as comments about data collection against each.
