Issues log
Purpose
- To record the discussions in the SSG in a thematic way such that it is possible to track the development of thinking on the part of the SSG members and the FSA.
- Where concluded, the Log will provide a record of the final outcome.
Content
As well as providing a record of the discussions at the SSG, the issues log also contains:
- Contact details for both the FSA and trade association representatives leading on a particular issue.
- A record of any actions and their timetable for resolution.
- Supporting documents provided either by the SSG members or the FSA.
Disclaimer
- The information on the Log should be taken in good faith as a fair representation of the discussion of the issue to date, and of current policy thinking – which may change.
- The log does not replace consultation or provide general guidance to firms: any FSA policy will be consulted on in the normal way. The log may identify those industry-wide issues where consultation and/or general guidance is necessary.
- The log will not replace individual guidance. A firm can still request guidance relating to a particular transaction.
- The papers nor reported remarks by anyone present at the meeting should be read as representing either the formal position of the member firms, or the trade associations.
